...but how do I explain Kinesiology?

Sometimes I start by saying that it came from american chiropractors.

In the early 1960s George Goodhart discovered the relationship between chinese meridians, muscle groups, organs and glands in the body.

Over the years there have been many brilliant practitioners who have developed kinesiology.

There are different schools of kinesiology which work in different ways.

I studied Systematic Kinesiology and found it so fascinating that I have gone on to do further workshops and studies, amongst them Philip Rafferty's Kinergetics.

I have also enjoyed treatments from other practitioners including Health Kinesiology.

By using muscle response testing it is possible to evaluate the body, find imbalances and determine how to balance holistically.

Kinesiology helps with: emotions and anxieties, dietary intake, intolerances and supplements for nutritional deficiencies, structural imbalances and energy blocks.

And that is just the beginning.

Every person I work with brings new insights into what kinesiology can do.

A couple of years ago a client came to me and said: 'it's all emotional'. She had problems with her live-in boyfriend and we talked through them.

She had been eating sugary foods so we worked with the meridians around the spleen and pancreas. The treatment went well and she gave herself the advice she needed regarding the boyfriend.

The next day she rang me full of excitement to let me know that she had slept through the night for the first time in ages without being woken by the pain from carpal tunnel syndrome (a conditionshe had neglected to mentionto me).

Kinesiology 'is the scientific study of human or non-human body movement': so says Wikipedia.

I have experienced kinesiology as a wonderful system to help individuals towards better physical and emotional well-being.

Our bodies are the most amazing self healing systems and if we understand how to support, care for and nourish them they will allow us to live our very best lives.

For me kinesiology has definitely set me on a path to much better health and happiness.
